Panalpina, the international freight forwarding logistics company, has transported 1.6 million of freshly cut roses from Nairobi to Sydney, using B777F aircraft for Valentine's Day.

To meet the additional demand for transporting flowers on Valentine's Day this year, Emirates SkyCargo will be operating a total of nine freighter flights dedicated for flowers over and above scheduled operations. With each of the airlines B777 freighter aircraft being capable of transporting up to 100 tonnes of cargo, this translates into the carrier flying close to 900 tonnes of roses over and above the around 4,000 tonnes transported monthly.
Brussels Airport has posted 55,030 tonnes, or a decrease of 3.2 percent in the cargo volumes being handled in January 2019, compared to 56,846 tonnes in the same period last year. This is the first time in months that the freight sector at the airport recorded negative growth. At the same time, the airport has handled 1.7 million passengers in January 2019, up 2.6 percent compared to the same month in 2018.
Air India chief Pradeep Singh Kharola has been appointed Civil Aviation secretary. Kharola has been roped in place of Rajiv Nayan Choubey, who superannuated on January 31. The move is part of a minor top-level bureaucratic reshuffle.
